Being I am from southeastern NC, I grew up knowing all about our area's rich history, which of course included the Battleship NC. It is a majestic fixed piece in the background of our trips walking in downtown Wilmington on the water front and on many river boat rides on the Cape Fear River, even ones when I was a little girl.
The original painting, which was done in acrylic on stretched canvas, was based on a stunning sunset photo taken by Jessica Marsh, who also resides in Wilmington, NC.
The original painting was recently sold at a local market (Seaglass Salvage Market), but you can however still own a piece of this captured NC history.
